Soccer Game Preview: Amarillo vs. El Paso

The Amarillo Sandies will square off against the El Paso Tigers at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Amarillo comes in on three and El Paso on 14.

Amarillo is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Abilene get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. Given Amarillo's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while Abilene are ranked 343rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, El Paso made easy work of El Dorado on Thursday and carried off a 4-0 victory. El Paso might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 contests by three goals or more this season.

Tessa Oneill and Ashlee Rosales scored all four of El Paso's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 62 goals.

Amarillo's win bumped their record up to 18-1-2. As for El Paso, their victory bumped their record up to 18-2-1.
