Bourne beats Case for their third straight win

Recap: Bourne Canalmen vs. Case Cardinals

The Bourne Canalmen won against the Case Cardinals last Friday with 28 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Bourne snuck past Case with a 28-24 victory. Winning may never get old, but Bourne sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Melo, who picked up 77 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Wood, who rushed for 139 yards.

Bourne's win was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 5-2. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Case, Seekonk, and Cape Cod RVT. As for Case, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bourne will face off against Atlantis/Westport at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Atlantis/Westport is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. As for Case, they will head out on the road to face off against Seekonk at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Massachusetts (Seekonk is ranked 257th, while Case is ranked 233rd).
