Basketball Preview: Grapevine Mustangs vs. Richland Royals
Grapevine has been on the road for four straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Richland Royals at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 54-25, which was the final score in Grapevine's tilt against the Eagles on Friday. Grapevine has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Richland was beaten by the Raiders 55-26 on Friday. Richland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-13.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Bree Hartfiel, who scored six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luna Palacios garza, who scored seven points.
Grapevine has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-16 record this season. As for Richland, their loss dropped their record down to 11-20.
Grapevine beat the Royals 42-29 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Grapevine repeat their success, or do the Royals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
