Basketball Game Preview: Seagraves Eagles vs. Smyer Bobcats

Seagraves and Smyer are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Seagraves Eagles will welcome the Smyer Bobcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Seagraves is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Ropes on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Seagraves took a blow against Ropes, falling 60-17. The loss continues a trend for Seagraves in their matchups with Ropes: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 70 points the game before, Smyer was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They were dealt a 66-22 defeat at the hands of Whiteface. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 491st, while the Antelopes are ranked 101st).

Seagraves' loss dropped their record down to 7-20. As for Smyer, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-9.
