Basketball Recap: David Anderson Takes a Loss

After flying high against Leetonia last Thursday, David Anderson came back down to earth. The David Anderson Blue Devils fell 54-43 to the Brookfield Warriors on Saturday. The Blue Devils were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in December of 2019.

Despite the loss, David Anderson still got an impressive performance from Jayden Smyth, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten steals. Smyth is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emelia Cook, who posted nine points.

David Anderson has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Brookfield, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 3-15 record.

David Anderson will face off against Liberty at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Brookfield has already played their next contest, a 35-31 loss against Newton Falls on the 3rd.
