Volleyball Recap: Sturgeon Bay Comes Up Short

Sturgeon Bay lost against Houghton back in October of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Clippers fell 2-0 to the Gremlins. The Clippers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Despite the loss, Sturgeon Bay saw an underclassman step up: freshman Makenna Coyhis had 13 assists and five digs. Coyhis has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more assists the last four times she's played. Sofia Sternard also deserves some recognition as she had her first kills of the season.

Sturgeon Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 6-22. As for Houghton, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.

Sturgeon Bay has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Omro on the 4th. As for Houghton, they will head out to take on Calumet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
