Softball Recap: Southwest Legacy's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak at Home

Southwest Legacy had lost six games at home, but after bumping their record up to 4-18 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over the Jay Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Titans have posted since February 28th.

Southwest Legacy got a massive performance out of Novalee Gloria, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Gloria has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Emma Puente, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Southwest Legacy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jay only managed seven hits.

As for Jay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss they have suffered since March 28, 2024.

On Jay's side, Jennifer Galindo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Jimena Ramierez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

As of now, neither Southwest Legacy nor Jay have any future games scheduled.
