Basketball Recap: Parkersburg Takes a Loss

Parkersburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-55 heartbreaker at the hands of the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers. If the Big Reds were looking for revenge after losing 64-50 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jerin Westfall was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 25 points and 11 boards for Buckhannon-Upshur. That makes it three consecutive games in which Westfall has scored at least a third of Buckhannon-Upshur's points. Another player making a difference was Brody Mcdaniels, who posted 12 points and five rebounds.

Parkersburg's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.

Parkersburg has already played their next game (against St. Albans), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, they are taking a road trip to challenge East Fairmont at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
