Volleyball Recap: Edinburg Comes Up Short

Edinburg saw some tournament action on Saturday. They fell just short of the McMullen County Cowboys by a score of 2-1. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Makayla Olvera paced Edinburg's offense, picking up 20 kills. Olvera got some help from Briseis Cortez and her 14 assists. Cortez was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Edinburg's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for McMullen County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Edinburg will take on Vela at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McMullen County, they will challenge Kenedy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
