Basketball Recap: Wyoming HomeSchool Warrior vs. Algoma Christian Knights

Wyoming HomeSchool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 71-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Algoma Christian Knights. While losing is never fun, the Warrior can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 436th, while the Knights are ranked 214th).

Algoma Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lucas Bouma out in front who went 10 for 15 on his way to 25 points along with five boards and five steals. Bouma is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Rhys Kehoe, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Wyoming HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Algoma Christian, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Wyoming HomeSchool will be playing in front of their home fans against Barry County Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Barry County Christian will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Wyoming HomeSchool surely won't give up without a fight. As for Algoma Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against West Michigan Academy of Environmental Science at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
