Basketball Recap: Braxton Sears Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Harriman

The Clarkrange Buffaloes made easy work of the Harriman Blue Devils on Monday and carried off a 72-52 victory. The Buffaloes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Clarkrange's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Braxton Sears led the charge by shooting 64% from the field en route to 19 points and seven rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Sears now owns an excellent 47.6% shooting accuracy. Mason McWhirter was another key player, going 5-for-7 to rack up 15 points along with five assists and five boards.

Clarkrange pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.7 points over those games. As for Harriman, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Clarkrange will take on Stone Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Buffaloes will need to watch out since the Panthers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Harriman, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sunbright at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils' defense better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 71.2 points per game this season.
