Baseball Recap: Brookline Sets Scoring Season-High Against Framingham

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Brookline and Framingham, and Brookline kept the tradition alive. The Warriors put the hurt on the Flyers with a sharp 9-3 win on Wednesday. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Ben Cote looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Brookline is 4-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Elias Brendel, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those RBI marked the first that he brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Felix Ham, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Brookline has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Framingham, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookline will face off against Weston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Framingham, they will challenge Lincoln-Sudbury at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
