Basketball Game Preview: Houston County Bears vs. Lee County Trojans

Houston County and Lee County are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Houston County Bears will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lee County Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Houston County is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Houston County had to suffer through a 72-18 loss at the hands of Veterans. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 346th, while the Warhawks are ranked 69th).

Meanwhile, Lee County unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coffee. The contest was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but Lee County couldn't quite close it out.

Lee County's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 10-6. As for Houston County, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.

Houston County came out on top in a nail-biter against Lee County in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, sneaking past 38-35. Does Houston County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lee County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
