Softball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Pleasant Valley's 13th in Last 14 Outings

There's no place like home for Pleasant Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Red Bluff Spartans on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-1 back in April.

Alissa Snipes made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Lily Thurman was excellent, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Pleasant Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Red Bluff, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-13-1.

As of now, neither Pleasant Valley nor the Spartans have any future games scheduled.
