Basketball Recap: Tuscola Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Tuscola extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 20 on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-4. They took a 91-82 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Enka Jets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Jets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 89-82 last Tuesday.

When it comes to explaining why Tuscola lost, don't look at Gavin Chouinard. Despite the final result, he shot 53% from the field on his way to 26 points and eight rebounds. Chouinard's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was James Launer, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 16 points and five boards.

As for Enka, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 89.3 points over those games.

Enka's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hyatt Middleton led the charge by shooting 40% from the field en route to 24 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Those five steals gave Middleton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Trantham, who went 10-for-15 on his way to 27 points.

Looking ahead, Tuscola will venture away from home to face off against Madison at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mountaineers will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 55 points in their last five games. As for Enka, they will be playing at home against Pisgah at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
