Basketball Recap: Jamares Harris' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Carver Montgomery over Park Crossing

If Carver Montgomery was riding high fresh off their 73-36 takedown of Thompson last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines fell just short of the Park Crossing Thunderbirds by a score of 47-44 on Friday. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2024.

Carver Montgomery lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jamares Harris, who posted seven points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jharvay Deramus, who put up five points and four steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Carver Montgomery fell to 3-1. As for Park Crossing, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Carver Montgomery wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-37 win against LEAD Academy on the 28th. Park Crossing has also already played their next game (against Bob Jones), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
