John Paul II had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Wylie on Saturday. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Pirates. The Cardinals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead John Paul II to victory, but perhaps none more so than Summer Hodge, who had 11 digs and one assist. Hodge is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashley Keith, who had nine digs and two aces.

When it comes to explaining why Wylie lost, don't look at Mallory Kendrick. Despite the final result, she had 12 digs and one assist. Stacy Kiambi also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

John Paul II now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Wylie, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
