Volleyball Recap: Summer Hodge Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Wylie

John Paul II barely beat Wylie the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Pirates on Saturday. The Cardinals haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead John Paul II to victory, but perhaps none more so than Summer Hodge, who had 11 digs and one assist. Hodge is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashley Keith, who had nine digs and two aces.

When it comes to explaining why Wylie lost, don't look at Mallory Kendrick. Despite the final result, she had 12 digs and one assist. Stacy Kiambi also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

John Paul II now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Wylie, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

John Paul II has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against McKinney Boyd on the 16th. As for Wylie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Rockwall-Heath on the 16th.
