Basketball Game Preview: Canisius Crusaders vs. St. Anthony's Friars

The Canisius Crusaders will head out on the road to challenge the St. Anthony's Friars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Canisius is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute 51-49. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

Meanwhile, St. Anthony's came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 points), and they left with even more momentum. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 59-55 W against the Bayhawks.

Canisius' victory bumped their record up to 22-4. As for St. Anthony's, their win bumped their record up to 23-3.

Canisius strolled past St. Anthony's in their previous meeting back in March of 2020 by a score of 55-40. Will Canisius repeat their success, or does St. Anthony's have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
