It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Florence ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They skirted past the South Jones Braves 6-5. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Florence's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6. As for South Jones, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 10-6.

Coming up, Florence will challenge Wesson at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Jones, they will venture away from home to challenge Brookhaven at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Braves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
