Recap: Campbell Spartans vs. East Coweta Indians
The Campbell Spartans can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat East Coweta 70-35 at home. Winning may never get old, but Campbell sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.
Campbell was led to victory by Saniya Binion and Brooke Suttle. Binion scored 23 points along with two steals, while Suttle scored 17 points along with seven steals and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Binion has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tai Harvey, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
East Coweta lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Naomi Craft, who scored ten points. Craft is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Kezoriyah Blackshear, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, East Coweta smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. This was only their 12th loss (out of 18 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Campbell pushed their record up to 18-7 with that victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for East Coweta, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.
Campbell will take on Westlake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Coweta, they will head out on the road to square off against Carrollton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully East Coweta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Friday.
