Basketball Preview: Lakewood Cougars vs. Anacortes Seahawks
Lakewood hasn't had much luck against Anacortes recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Lakewood Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Anacortes Seahawks at 7:15 p.m. Lakewood is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.8 points per game this season.
Last Thursday, everything went Lakewood's way against Mt. Baker as Lakewood made off with a 65-39 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Emma Tocco was nothing short of spectacular: she went 12 of 25 on her way to 31 points and four steals. Those 31 points gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Perez, who posted seven points in addition to five boards and four steals.
Meanwhile, Anacortes was beaten by Lynden 72-23 on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Lions are ranked first).
Lakewood's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Anacortes, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.
