Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Goodrich

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Goodrich ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Holly Bronchos 6-5. The win was familiar territory for the Martians, who have now won four contests in a row.

Kinsley Pinkelman tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, Jordyn Kosmowski and Sophie Swanson did most of the damage at the plate: Kosmowski went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Swanson went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Those two hits gave Kosmowski a new career-high.

Goodrich kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.

Goodrich's record now sits at 10-6. As for Holly, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-5.

Coming up, Goodrich will venture away from home to challenge Corunna at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Holly, they will host Fenton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
