Basketball Recap: St. James Makes It Five in a Row at Home

St. James waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They took down the Norwood Pirates 49-35.

Despite the loss, Norwood saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kalie Chadwell went 5 of 11 on her way to 16 points and six boards. That's the most rebounds Chadwell has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gentry Davault, who posted six points and ten boards.

St. James' win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points per game. As for Norwood, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 14-5 record.

St. James has already played their next matchup, a 50-44 victory against Union on the 28th. As for Norwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-40 win against Willow Springs on the 27th.
