Basketball Recap: Millard West Wildcats vs. Millard North Mustangs
The Millard West Wildcats lost against the Millard North Mustangs back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Millard West fell 58-46 to the Mustangs. Millard West has not had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Millard West's loss came despite strong showings from Jordan Gassen and Reece Carson. Gassen scored 20 points, while Carson scored 14 points. Gassen is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight.
Millard West's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Millard North, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millard West won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Monarchs at 5:15 p.m. on February 3rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Papillion-LaVista is ranked 93rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 83rd). As for Millard North, they will head out on the road to challenge the Chieftains at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
