Basketball Recap: Mayci Litherland Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Evansville Christian

Evansville Christian typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Heritage Hills proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 45-36 victory over the Evansville Christian Eagles. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Heritage Hills' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mayci Litherland, who posted 14 points and five rebounds. Litherland has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Mia Becher, who had ten points and five boards.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hannah Higgs, who put up 15 points and seven steals. Bella Hall was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

Heritage Hills is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season. As for Evansville Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7.

Heritage Hills will host Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive. Evansville Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
