Preview: Winters Warriors vs. Willows Honkers
Winters is 8-2 against Willows since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Winters Warriors will be playing at home against the Willows Honkers at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Winters managed to keep up with Colusa until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Winters' rough 60-36 loss to Colusa might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Winters in their matchups with Colusa: they've now lost nine in a row.
Meanwhile, Willows fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against East Nicolaus on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 63-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Winters' loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Willows, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Winters strolled past Willows in their previous meeting last Friday by a score of 70-56. Does Winters have another victory up their sleeve, or will Willows turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
