Football Recap: Jeremiah Cropp Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Pawnee

After only eight points in their last game, Stroud made sure to put some points up on the board against Pawnee on Friday. The Tigers came out on top against the Black Bears by a score of 45-32. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Stroud's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Cropp, who threw for 287 yards and four TDs while picking up 14.4 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 62 yards and one score on only five carries. Those 62 rushing yards gave Cropp a new career-high. Aiden Collins also helped out as he racked up 112 receiving yards.

Stroud didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of London Ward and Jacob Beck. Another thorn in Pawnee's side was Trystan Baker, who made 19 total tackles.

The win got Stroud back to even at 1-1. As for Pawnee, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Stroud didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-13 victory against Tonkawa on the 19th. As for Pawnee, they have also already played their next contest, a 38-34 win against Hominy on the 19th.
