Baseball Recap: Baldwyn Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Baldwyn finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They came up short against the East Union Urchins, falling 12-0. The shutout was out of character for the Bearcats seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

With the loss, Baldwyn broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-7-1. As for East Union, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-3.

Baldwyn and East Union should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings. The Bearcats will challenge Tremont at 6:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (146 vs. 295). Meanwhile, East Union (ranked ninth) will meet West Union (ranked 161st) at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
