Basketball Recap: Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 73-26 defeat at the hands of the Pinnacle Classical Academy Eagles. Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-10.

Pinnacle Classical Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Braylon Gentry, who went 8 of 16 en route to 25 points and three steals. What's more, Gentry also racked up three assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cody Humphries, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards.

Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Pinnacle Classical Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy has already played their next game (against Lake Lure Classical Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pinnacle Classical Academy will venture away from home to face off against Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy has won six straight at home, while Pinnacle Classical Academy won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
