Volleyball Recap: Valdosta Comes Up Short

Valdosta lost against Thomas County Central back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Yellow Jackets by a score of 2-1. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Yellow Jackets 25-15 in the first set.

Valdosta started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-14, 15-11.

Jaidah Evans paced Valdosta's offense, picking up five kills. Evans got some help from Olivia Shen and her eight assists. Peyton Deal controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Valdosta's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Thomas County Central, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Valdosta has already played their next match, a 3-2 win against Valwood on the 12th. As for Thomas County Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Lowndes on the 9th.
