Soccer Game Preview: Baker vs. Fairhope

Baker hasn't had much luck against Fairhope recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Hornets will take on the Pirates. Fairhope took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Baker, who comes in off a win.

Baker's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Citronelle as they made off with a 3-0 win. Baker might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by three goals or more this season.

Kourtney Bartley and Brianna Spencer scored all three of Baker's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 32 goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to five goals the game before, Fairhope was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They fell 2-0 to St. Luke's Episcopal. The shutout was out of character for Fairhope seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

The victory made it two in a row for Baker and bumps their season record up to 14-10-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Fairhope, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5-2.

Baker might still be hurting after the 4-0 loss they got from Fairhope in their previous meeting back in April of 2019. Can the Hornets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
