Baseball Recap: Fremont Gets the Win

Fremont won the last time they faced Hesperia and things went their way on Saturday too. The Packers walked away with a 7-4 win over the Panthers.

The team relied heavily on Deagan Klimek, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run and one RBI. He has become a key player for Fremont: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 3-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Zerlaut, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Fremont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Fremont's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Hesperia, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-7.

Coincidentally, Fremont and Hesperia will both be playing Shelby the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Tigers at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Packers will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
