Volleyball Game Preview: Mission Bay Buccaneers vs. University City Centurions + How To Watch

Mission Bay is 0-10 against University City since April of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Buccaneers are taking a road trip to face off against the Centurions at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Tuesday, Mission Bay didn't have quite enough to beat Point Loma and fell 3-2. While the Buccaneers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Pointers 25-15 in the first set.

Mission Bay actually scored more points across those five sets (102-100), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 15-25, 25-16, 19-25, 25-22, 16-14.

Meanwhile, University City came up short against Patrick Henry on Tuesday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Centurions have suffered against the Patriots since August 23, 2018.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-16, 25-19.

University City now has a losing record of 16-17. As for Mission Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 18-14.

Mission Bay couldn't quite get it done against University City in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Buccaneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
