Softball Game Preview: St. Louis Catholic Saints vs. LaGrange Gators

The St. Louis Catholic Saints will face off against the LaGrange Gators at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in St. Louis Catholic's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while LaGrange has been banged up by 14 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.

St. Louis Catholic is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since March 8th on Friday. They came up short against St. Edmund, falling 18-9.

Aila Brassier and Jillian Richard stepped up to the plate in a big way. Brassier went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Richard went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Mattie Fullington was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, LaGrange came up short against Westminster Christian Academy on Wednesday and fell 11-6.

St. Louis Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for LaGrange, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.

St. Louis Catholic beat LaGrange 14-9 in their previous meeting back in March of 2021. Will the Saints repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
