Basketball Recap: Pinewood Christian Takes a Loss

Pinewood Christian lost against Citizens Christian Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pinewood Christian Patriots came up short against the Citizens Christian Academy Patriots, falling 63-40. While losing is never fun, Pinewood Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 498th, while Citizens Christian Academy is ranked 206th).

When it comes to explaining why Pinewood Christian lost, don't look at Banks Hearn. Despite the final result, he posted 29 points. That was a full 72.5% of Pinewood Christian's points, marking the 16th time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Sam Wasson, who earned nine points.

Pinewood Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Citizens Christian Academy, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7.

Pinewood Christian will square off against Westminster Schools of Augusta at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Hearn and Gavin Fox. Citizens Christian Academy has already played their next game (against Montgomery County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
