Football Recap: Copper Canyon Skates Past Alhambra with Ease

The third road game was the charm for Copper Canyon, as they earned their first away victory of the season. They blew past the Alhambra Lions, posting a 49-13 win. Considering the Aztecs have won three matchups by more than 35 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Javian Wright was a one-man wrecking crew as he picked up 96 receiving yards and two scores. Those two receiving touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

Copper Canyon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Isaac Simms. Javier Castro was another major factor on D, picking up three sacks and making ten total tackles.

The victory got Copper Canyon back to even at 3-3. As for Alhambra, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
