Softball Recap: Grosse Ile Gets the Win

While Grosse Ile didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They skirted past the Glenn Rockets 8-7. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Devils.

Marian McCarthy was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Another player making a difference was Molly McNamee, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Grosse Ile's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Glenn, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Grosse Ile will take on Grosse Pointe South at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Blue Devils' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the Red Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Glenn, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Sterling Heights Stevenson at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.6 runs per game on average), something the Rockets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
