Baseball Recap: Torrey Pines Extends Winning Streak to Three

Torrey Pines barely beat Del Norte the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Torrey Pines blew past Del Norte 7-1 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Falcons also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Brody Martin spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up seven Ks. He has become a key player for Torrey Pines: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2 otherwise.

At the plate, Torrey Pines saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Stroot, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Those runs were Stroot's first of the season. Logan Cole was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

The victory was the third in a row for Torrey Pines, bringing their record up to 4-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Del Norte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Torrey Pines will face off against Point Loma at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Del Norte, they will take on Southwest EC at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southwest EC's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Del Norte's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
