Basketball Preview: Tyler HEAT vs. Garrison Bulldogs
Tyler HEAT will head out on the road to challenge the Garrison Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Tyler HEAT's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six matchups.
Tyler HEAT put the finishing touches on their 18th blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They put the hurt on Dallas Thunder with a sharp 80-54 victory. Given Tyler HEAT's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 234th, while the are ranked 749th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Jackson Tomlin, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine assists. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Waker Hartman, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Garrison beat the Tigers 49-44 on Friday.
Tyler HEAT is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 30-6 record this season. As for Garrison, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Tyler HEAT came up short against the Bulldogs in their previous meeting back in February of 2021, falling 56-47. Can Tyler HEAT avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
