Chattanooga Central had to endure a ten-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out the Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences Patriots 10-9 on Friday. The Pounders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Chattanooga Central let Nick Osinga and Isaac Garcia run wild. Osinga scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Garcia went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Osinga also put up a hit, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Caden Jones, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Chattanooga Central's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Chattanooga Central will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on East Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on March 24th. As for Chattanooga School for the Arts & Sciences, they will face off against Howard Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
