The Moriarty Pintos are on the road again on Friday to play the Bernalillo Spartans at 6:00 p.m.

Things were looking good for Moriarty after they put the first points on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 38-29 to St. Pius X. The loss was the Pintos' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Bernalillo faced Portales in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. Bernalillo enjoyed a cozy 14-0 win over Portales. The Spartans' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

The critical scores for Bernalillo came from Joseph Duran and Kenneth Saiz.

Bernalillo wouldn't let Portales keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Jaden Lovato was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Another thorn in Portales' side was Lee Miller, who picked up three sacks and made eight total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Having lost for the first time this season, Moriarty fell to 2-1. As for Bernalillo, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
