Football Recap: Meridian Hawks vs. Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski Lions
There's no place like home for Meridian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 34-20 win over the Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski Lions on Friday.
Bryce Brown was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 133 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 30 yards and one touchdown.

Meridian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Terry OLaughlin and Jason O'Laughlin. O'Laughlin is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made seven or more in each of the last three games he's played. Ted Jones was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making ten total tackles.
Meridian picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Unity Christian/Mt. Pulaski, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
