Basketball Recap: South Adams Starfires vs. Adams Central Flying Jets
South Adams was the 51-39 winner over Adams Central when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The South Adams Starfires received a blow on Saturday as they fell 55-39 to the Adams Central Flying Jets. The Starfires have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ava Stafford went supernova for Adams Central, going 7 of 13 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and four steals. Stafford is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Kate Fisher, who posted 13 points along with six steals and five boards.
South Adams' defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Adams Central, their victory ended a six-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-9.
South Adams didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-23 loss against Monroe Central on the 16th. As for Adams Central, they will welcome Bluffton at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
