Rancho Bernardo lost to Rancho Buena Vista back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, the Broncos made off with a 66-65 win over the Longhorns. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Rancho Bernardo was led to victory by Tyler Johnson and Cyrus Sadri-Ahwazi. Johnson shot 58% from the field to rack up 22 points in addition to seven rebounds and four blocks, while Sadri-Ahwazi went 6-for-9 on his way to 19 points. Those 19 points gave Sadri-Ahwazi a new career-high. Jacob Webb was another key player, putting up five points.

Despite the loss, Rancho Buena Vista still got an impressive performance from CJ Aldrich, who dropped a double-double with 34 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydon Allen, who shot 54% from the field en route to 14 points and five rebounds.

Rancho Bernardo's record is now 2-4. As for Rancho Buena Vista, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
