Volleyball Recap: Gilman Comes Up Short

Gilman was the 3-2 winner over Colby when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pirates took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets on Thursday. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

The 3-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Gilman lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-23, 21-25, 25-22.

Gilman's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Colby, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-14 record this season.

Gilman has already played their next matchup (against Solon Springs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Colby, they will head out on the road to take on Cadott at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
