Preview: West Lincoln Bears vs. Bogue Chitto Bobcats
West Lincoln has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Bogue Chitto Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Lincoln will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 264th, while Bogue Chitto is ranked 74th).
West Lincoln suffered their biggest loss since November 7, 2023 on Friday. They were outmatched by Loyd Star at home and fell 68-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat West Lincoln has suffered against Loyd Star since January 22, 2021.
Meanwhile, Bogue Chitto entered their tilt with Wilkinson County with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. Bogue Chitto claimed a resounding 71-24 victory over Wilkinson County at home. Bogue Chitto has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.
West Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Bogue Chitto, their victory was their 17th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-1.
West Lincoln was taken down by Bogue Chitto 80-50 in their previous matchup on January 5th. Can West Lincoln avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
