Basketball Recap: Bothell Comes Up Short

Bothell lost against Sammamish back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bothell Cougars took a 72-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sammamish RedHawks. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rakin Showki was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 11 assists for Sammamish. Showki's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Boddie, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 17 points and three steals.

Bothell's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Sammamish, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.

Bothell will host Lake Washington at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Bothell is on a three-game streak of home wins, Lake Washington a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Sammamish, they will head out on the road to challenge Mercer Island at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Sammamish's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matches.
