Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Benson). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 67-7 victory over the Desert Christian Eagles. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Benson's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dawson Judd, who threw for 201 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. Judd's passing game has become a key predictor of the Bobcats' success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Cohen Barney got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Benson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Judd, Barney, and Rawley Evans picked up one apiece. Judd got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win made it two in a row for Benson and bumps their season record up to 5-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 3-4 Desert Christian and 3-4 Santa Cruz Valley. As for Desert Christian, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Benson is set to square off against their familiar foe Willcox at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Desert Christian will face off against rival Santa Cruz Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for the Eagles and four for the Dust Devils.
