Baseball Recap: Sneads Takes a Loss

After flying high against Malone last Wednesday, Sneads came back down to earth. The Pirates came up short against the Chipley Tigers on Tuesday, falling 15-2. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Tigers earlier this season, when they won 15-4.

Sneads' defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Chipley, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sneads will welcome Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.95 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Chipley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Holmes County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Devils have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
